EdPuzzle is a great way to turn videos into interactive lessons. While its purpose is similar to TEDEd, it is more versatile. You may use a video from almost any source, or upload your own. You can crop videos, add your voice to replace the soundtrack of the video with your own explanation, and embed quizzes within the video to create a customized lesson just for your students. This is a great way to flip your classroom, increase differentiated learning, or add supplemental materials for students who need extra practice or an extra challenge. This free tool includes features that let you see the data on participating students so that you can check their understanding and see where they are struggling. You may also share the lesson without requiring the student to login.

A Sample Edpuzzle Lesson
This is the same video on Population Pyramids used as a TEDEd lesson example. It might help you better understand the difference between the two applications. For this lesson, the introduction and ending credits were cropped, one open-ended question and three multiple choice questions were added, and audio comments were placed at the end.
