Description
TodaysMeet is a free tool that allows anyone to join in a digital conversation. It has easy-to-use tools and a simple, uncluttered space. Use it for collaborating with your colleagues or as a discussion tool in the classroom for your students. You can create a "room" and open a discussion quickly and easily without an account; creating a free account only takes seconds and gives you more options. (You can also sign in using your Google account if you have one.)
For the $5/month upgrade fee, you can access the TodaysMeet Teacher Tools, which gives you additional options for keeping transcripts of your discussions permanently, putting a discussion on hold, "muting" someone from the conversation, etc. Click here to see a full list of the benefits of the paid account.

Ideas for the classroom
- Have a class conversation. The quietest student may be willing to participate anonymously. If you're worried about inappropriate comments, make it clear that the activity ends immediately if that happens.
- Give examples. Students could share real life applications of a new concept or create sample test questions.
- Host a contest. The first one that posts the correct answer wins. You could even do this outside the classroom.
- Brainstorm as a class. Students post their response to TodaysMeet rather than the teacher or student write them on the board.

A Live TodaysMeet board
You have the option of embedding a TodaysMeet board in your website, which is what I've done here so that you can see what that's like. Click on the name of the board in the top left corner (eSchoolTechTools) to make a comment or contribute an idea on the live TodaysMeet board below. I chose "Anyone" for participation in this board, so you don't need to be signed in to TodaysMeet to contribute. Just click on the name, give yourself a nickname, and add your comment. (Your comments are limited to 140 characters.) Click on the images in the gallery to the right to see how to access the sharing options on TodaysMeet.
