Description
Wikimedia Commons is a media file repository which makes available public domain and freely-licensed educational media content (images, sound and video clips) to everyone. Users may copy, use and modify any files as long as they follow the terms specified by the author (see below), usually by crediting the source and releasing copies/improvements at the same level of licensing as the original. The license conditions of each individual media file can be found on their description page.
Although a degree in copyright law isn't necessary, it is important to know what you're looking for when you're trying to find "free" images to use; click here to review the guidelines on our Free Images & Media landing page.
